Friluft Psychotherapy is named after the concept of "Friluftsliv". Friluftsliv is a Norwegian term that translates to "open-air living" or "outdoor life." It refers to a lifestyle and cultural tradition that emphasizes the value and joy of spending time in nature. This concept encompasses activities such as hiking, skiing, camping, and simply enjoying the natural environment, regardless of the weather.

The philosophy behind friluftsliv is deeply rooted in Norwegian culture and promotes the idea that spending time outdoors can lead to a healthier, more balanced, and fulfilling life.
